Hello! I am a PhD candidate in Political Science at the University of Rochester. In January 2026, I will join the Department of Political Science at the University of Oslo as a Postdoctoral Fellow. I go by Mei. 

I study international relations and formal political theory, with a focus on third-party intervention in interstate and intrastate conflicts. Covering the full range of military, economic, and diplomatic interventions by self-interested third parties, my dissertation examines what determines a third party's signaling and intervention strategies, and how the intervention affects conflict dynamics. 

My broad research agenda covers three interconnected themes within third-party intervention: (1) the interaction between military intervention and peacemaking activities; (2) the domestic roots of foreign intervention; and (3) the politics of information sharing between military partners.

Before Rochester, I received a B.A. in International Politics from Renmin University of China.
